Bring Your Backyard to Life with Patio Pavers

A great patio isn’t just a slab—it’s the stage where weeknights and weekends actually happen. Our paver patios are designed to fit your space, style, and budget—built on a base that lasts.

Paver Patios — best when you want:

  • Replaceable units if one chips or stains (no full demo)
  • Excellent freeze–thaw performance with proper base/edges
  • Maximum design flexibility: borders, inlays, large-format
  • Low maintenance; optional sealing

Stamped/Plain Concrete — best when you want:

  • A monolithic surface and strong budget value on simple shapes
  • Fewer joints and a continuous look
  • Color/pattern integral to the pour
  • Accept that resealing and crack control are part of ownership.

We build both. If stamped concrete is the better fit, we’ll say so and show you the tradeoffs.

Design Options

  • Shapes & layouts: rectangles, curves, terraces, multi-level
  • Patterns: running bond, herringbone (45°/90°), basketweave, random ashlar
  • Borders & inlays: soldier course, double borders, medallions
  • Steps & transitions: stoops, masonry steps, under-cap lighting on risers
  • Integrations: seat walls, fire features, outdoor kitchens, pergolas
  • Materials: concrete pavers, porcelain pavers, natural stone slabs

Our Build Standard (What You Don’t See Is What Makes It Last)

  1. Site assessment & layout – elevations and drainage planned
  2. Excavation – depth for base + bedding + paver thickness
  3. Base installation – 6–10″ compacted aggregate in 2″ lifts
  4. Edge restraint – anchored into the base, not soil
  5. Bedding layer – ~1″ screeded sand or chips (open-graded option)
  6. Laying & cutting – tight joints, clean borders, sleeves for utilities
  7. Joint stabilization – polymeric sand; final compaction
  8. Sealing (optional) – breathable, matte/low-sheen

Drainage: We set 1–2% slope away from structures and integrate drains as needed—never trapping water at your foundation.

Popular Add‑Ons

  • Seat walls & pillars with contrasting caps
  • Built-in fire pits or fireplaces (wood or gas)
  • Outdoor kitchens (grill islands, bar seating, storage)
  • Low‑voltage lighting (under-cap, path, step)
  • Shade structures (pergolas, pavilions; coordinated with footings)

Typical Timelines & Investment

Every yard and soil profile is different, but most single‑level patios install in 3–6 working days once we begin. Multi‑feature projects run longer.

Budgeting: To help early planning, patios generally vary by:

  • Paver choice & size (standard vs. large‑format or premium textures)
  • Excavation & access (tight yard access, hauling distance)
  • Soil conditions (clay removal, stabilization)
  • Features (curves, steps, seat walls, lighting, kitchens)

FAQ for Paver Patios

Do pavers settle over time?

Well-built patios shouldn’t. Settlement is almost always a base or drainage issue; we build to prevent it and warranty our workmanship.

Will weeds grow in the joints?
Polymeric sand greatly reduces this. Blow off leaves regularly and consider sealing.
Should I seal my patio?
Optional. Sealing enhances color and helps with stains; we’ll recommend the right product for your paver type.
What about winter & de-icing?
Use CMA or similar paver-safe products—avoid rock salt and metal shovels.
Can you tie into existing concrete?
Yes—clean transitions/expansion details blend materials seamlessly.
Do I need a permit?
Patios typically don’t; gas, electrical, or structures might. We’ll advise for your municipality.
